PRESS RELEASE - April 2010A Cleckheaton Jeweller is beating the credit crunch by cashing in on the high price of gold.
And he is now advising people that there is no better time to sell as the value of the precious metal has shot up thanks to the weak US dollar.
Mark Hepworth owner of Robert Openshaw Jewellers Cleckheaton, spotted the potential as the American currency started to decline. "I pretty much started this gold boom off", said the 32-year old. I predicted the boom after keeping a close eye on the financial markets. "I study the markets and always check what the analysts are saying. I follow the American market more than anything and when the Dollar started falling I thought the price would go up because whenever the Dollar falls people start investing in Gold. "If the Dollar stays weak Gold is going to rise and all the investors start buying in Gold so I started mass marketing in Gold."
Business is so good he has regular clients that come from as far afield as Dunblane to take advantage of his fair market price. Today he was buying Gold for £7.45 per gram [correct 24/04/10, price changes twice daily], however other buyers in the region are offering significantly less for the same weight. "The difference is they only want to make money out of the credit crunch," added Mark, a former pupil at Whitcliffe Mount School, Cleckheaton.
"I want to buy and sell Gold and be a bullion dealer. A lot of shops in the area sell me their scrap as I offer such a good price."
After buying Gold, Robert Openshaw's then refine it and the Gold is then re-sold to investors.
Although there has been no better time to sell Gold, Mark is now warning people to be on their guard or risk being ripped off.
"Unless they tell their Jeweller what different carats they have got they will only get a price for nine carat Gold," he said. "There's a lot of robbery going on because Gold is money."

PRESS RELEASE - January 2010Independent Jewellers Robert Openshaw of Cleckheaton celebrates its 125th Birthday this year.
The company which has traded from the same location in Cleckheaton throughout its history, held a celebratory Dinner for employees in December.
During the event, Alan Fairbotham presented a special momento to the company - a rare Gold Soverign with a hallmark from 1885, the year in which the store was established.
"Openshaw's are what businesses are all about. It is an astonishing achievement to have survived 125 years. Openshaw's have been a hallmark of excellence in Cleckheaton for so many years" said Managing Director, Mark Hepworth. "Openshaw's is one of the few long standing independents in a prime location left in Cleckheaton Town Centre.
We have seen five different monarchs, two world wars and are in the middle of the worst economic climate; but despite this Robert Openshaw is planning a few surprises for customers during the year; investing in a full showroom refurbishment, and an "in-house" Working Jeweller to further strengthen the business. |
